Caboolture to Royal Brisbane & Women's Hospital daily shuttle service
Cancer Council Queensland is pleased to announce a partnership with Metro North Health service to deliver a new Transport to Treatment service. The free service will run between Caboolture and Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital Monday to Friday.
This service has been made possible thanks to contributions from the Hornery Family Trust, the RBWH Foundation, Cancer Care Services at RBWH and the Cancer Council Queensland. The service is available to all patients receiving cancer care at the RBWH.
Patients will need to be referred via the CCQ Transport to Treatment webpage. Referrals take 3 mins to complete and are valid for 12 months.
The shuttle departs from The Hub Precinct, 4 Hasking Street, Caboolture, free parking is available in the green multi-story car park.
As a health professional, you can refer someone to this service for up to 12 months by completing the online referral: Transport to Treatment - Cancer Council Queensland. Your patient will receive an email once their referral has been accepted. They will be provided with a link to book their travel dates. It may take up to 3 business days for the referral to be processed.
Patient eligibility criteria
- Patients currently accessing RBWH Cancer Care Services for appointments, chemotherapy, or radiotherapy.
- Patients need to be able to travel on their own without medical supervision during the trip.
- There is no formal catchment area - all patients travelling between Caboolture and RBWH are eligible.
- There is no financial hardship criteria - the service is free for all eligible patients.
Exclusion criteria
This service cannot take:
- Patients travelling with children under 7 years of age.
- Patients travelling with more than one carer/family member.
- Any patient who needs help getting on or off the shuttle.
Patients in wheelchairs or on mobility scooters.

Yes
Can I refer patients who are in remission but still attending follow-up appointments?
Yes
Is this service suitable for children?
Children aged under 18 can travel on the service if they are with a carer or guardian. Unfortunately, the service is not suitable for children aged under 7.
