The Practice Support phone line operates Monday to Friday from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm and is only to be used by GPs and general practice staff.

Support areas
The Primary Care Team is available to support you and your practice in the following areas:
- digital health—assist practices in the implementation and meaningful use of digital health systems e.g. My health Record, GP Smart Referrals, ePrescribing and PRODA
- continuous quality improvement—provide advice, resources, project opportunities and clinical tools to drive continuous quality improvement activities in general practice, while also supporting PIP QI
- COVID-19 response—support general practices to respond to COVID-19, facilitate the flow of COVID-19 related information and coordinate the COVID-19 vaccine program
- primary care reform—support practices to prepare for and implement primary care initiatives e.g. new models of care
- accreditation planning—help general practices to undertake accreditation for the first time, or assist those undergoing re-accreditation
- workforce development—plan and implement workforce development and training activities e.g. webinars and networking opportunities.
General Practice Liaison Officers (GPLO)
A partnership between Metro North Health & Brisbane North PHN
The GPLOs are an experienced team of GPs who bring their unique insights to improving system integration between hospital and primary care services.
GPLO activities
GPLO activities include:
- practice visits to support the use of integrated systems including Health Provider Portal, GP referrals and HealthPathways
- working to improve discharge from hospital and clinical handover
- providing primary care advice to key working groups and contributing to the development of pathways of care, state-wide referral guidelines and action plans
- designing and implementing shared care models
- providing GPs with regular communications through the PHN’s monthly newsletter
- leading GP education events.
