Head to Health has a new name: Medicare Mental Health
From Monday March 31, all remaining Head to Health services such as and including the Head to Health Phone Service, Head to Health Kids and Head to Health website across Australia will now be renamed to align with the Medicare Mental Health brand. This change ensures that all services are aligned with other trusted clinical services funded by the Australian Government.
- The name change will not affect the services currently offered to individuals, carers, or health professionals. All existing support will remain free, comprehensive, and confidential.
- While the services will now be branded as Medicare Mental Health, no Medicare card is required to access these services.
- This alignment with the Medicare brand enhances the trust and credibility of the services, ensuring they are easily recognizable as part of the Australian Government’s trusted healthcare network.
These changes are part of ongoing efforts to ensure all Australians can access the support they need to maintain their mental health and wellbeing, no matter where they live.
If you need support to find an appropriate mental health service or referral guidance for your patient’s unique needs, contact Medicare Mental Health via phone on 1800 595 212, Monday to Friday from 8.30 am to 5.00 pm (excluding public holidays).
