Changes to the Queensland Ambulance non-emergency patient transport (NEPT) booking system

The Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) is releasing a new online platform NEPT (Non-Emergency Patient Transport) Request System which aims to streamline and modernise the process for Queensland Health, private medical practices, nursing homes and residential aged care facilities to request non-emergency patient transport services.

It will replace all current medically authorised ambulance transport forms, emails, faxes, and phone calls (12 12 33) to the QAS Operations Centres when requesting, modifying, cancelling, and making a patient ready for return after their appointment. By automating the request process it will reduce the time healthcare providers spend on administrative tasks, such as making transport arrangements for eligible patients.

Please review the NEPT information package. Additional information is available on the Queensland Ambulance Service website

Should you have any questions, please email nept@ambulance.qld.gov.au
