Capvaxive (21vPCV) Stock Update

Queensland continues to experience high demand for Capvaxive, with ongoing national supply constraints. Supply is expected to improve progressively over the coming months, however availability may remain constrained in the short term.

To support equitable access across Queensland, order quantities may be adjusted. This measure ensures all providers can continue to access available stock while supply constraints are managed.

Immunisation providers are requested to continue to: 

• prioritise Capvaxive for individuals who have not previously received a pneumococcal vaccine and for those at highest risk (refer to the Australian Immunisation Handbook)
• book Capvaxive appointments only when you have stock on hand
• order only the quantity required until your next routine fortnightly immunisation order

Queensland Health is working closely with the Australian Government to improve Capvaxive availability. Further updates will be provided as they become available.
